Light The Night Walk

This year marked the 13th Anniversary for me being cancer free and I once again walked in the annual Leukemia and Lymphoma light the night walk to help raise money. Every year my goal is to raise $1,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This year I once again surpassed my goal by 23% raising $1,230 and is a member of the Bright Lights Club as a top fundraiser.

Plumbing Problems!

When we got home from Savannah we came home to a plumbing issue :(
Our toilets would not flush and we had back up in the bathtub. We were able to get someone out first thing in the morning to look at it and found out it was more than just a quick fix. We needed to get a clean out system put in which required some digging in my backyard and lots of $$.
The worst was I came down with the flu during all this which reqired me to stay a few days at my parents since we had not bathroom access.
Here are some pictures of the damage.

Savannah Trip~

Last weekend we went to Savannah, GA to visit a good friend of mine and her family. We had such a great time! The first day we spent at the beach. Her kids LOVE the beach. We had lunch at a seafood restaurant and later that day Sam and her husband went crabbing and caught some crab for us to have for dinner :)
We also ate dinner at Paula Deans restaurant "Lady and Sons" the night before we left. It was VERY good. Sam and I got the buffet so we could try a little bit of everything and my friend got the chicken pot pie which was out of the world!

Day at the Races~

On August 7th we surprised my dad with a little "surprise" 60th birthday party at Arlington Park Race Track with a few family members and a few of his close friends.

~Tour of Elk Grove~

Today was the Tour of Elk Grove bicycle race and our street was on the course so they came riding right down our street.
Sam, Abby and Muffy were patiently waiting for the race to start!

Click on the video to watch the race come down our street~

~Transformers Filming~

The new Transformers movie is being filmed in downtown Chicago. It actually happened to be taking place right down the street from the hotel we stayed at while attending the Bon Jovi concert friday night. I was able to get some shots of the sets - and I was actually awakened this morning to explosions that were taking place during the filming around 5am! It was pretty neat.

~Lunch in Millenium Park~

Today we met our friend Susan downtown for lunch who flew in from Georgia to go to the Bon Jovi concert. We ate at a cute little outdoor cafe right in Millenium Park.

Here is picture of all of us by the "Bean". The Bean is so cool - you can see the entire Chicago SkyLine reflected in it.

Bon Jovi!!!!!

July 30th me and 4 friends went to the Bon Jovi concert at Soldiers Field! I have been waiting for this concert for over 8 months. This year we decided to make a weekend out of it and stayed at the Hard Rock Cafe hotel downtown on friday night. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a cheese and crackers tray - yum!

Each floor at the hotel is themed with a different rock group - ours was Kiss and the pillows had little guitars on them.

Three of us entering Soldiers Field -
Our friend Kerry was stuck in traffic and actually had all of our tickets! So, we hung out outside until she arrived :)

The stage!

Look at all those fans!

Bon Jovi Rocks! He actually gets better looking with age :)

The band came out into the crowd half way through the concert and performed a couple numbers.

Jon wore a Chicago Blackhawks Jersey with "Bon Jovi" #10 on the back for his encore. It was so awesome.

What an awesome concert it was! He played for 3 hours and we did not get out of there until midnight!
